Pedrosa pleased to be able to add points and still lead the standings

Mugello - Dani Pedrosa admitted there was a problem with his bike in the middle of the Italian MotoGP race. Nevertheless, he was glad to be able to get extra points and still leads the standings.

Pedrosa was able to maximize the pole position in the qualifying session he get. In the race at Mugello Circuit on Sunday (02/06/2013) night, he was overtaken by Jorge Lorenzo on the first lap.

Entering the 19th lap, turn Marc Marquez who passed on a bend. But, the condition did not last long because on lap-21 accident Marquez.

Pedrosa eventually finished the race in second position. The Repsol Honda rider finished 5.4 seconds behind Lorenzo.

"I do not feel entirely comfortable in the race today, but I was happy because I was able to get points in large numbers," I Pedrosa in MotoGP's official website.

With this result, Pedrosa stay on top of the rider standings with 103 points, a collection of five series that has been running. He's 12-point lead over Lorenzo and 26 points over Marquez.

"In general, this is a tough weekend. Rear tires gave me a lot of problems with a lack of grip, but getting 20 points from this race and still leads the driver standings is something positive," said Pedrosa.
